After breakfast, depart for the Hadzabe experience; a cross-cultural rendezvous with the nomadic bushmen “Wa Hadzabe”. Spend time participating in the morning routine of their settlement; learning the tribe’s methods of gathering roots, tubers & wild fruits in the rugged landscapes in which they inhabit. Observe the hunting techniques still practiced by the tribe with bow & arrow; as your local guide interprets & details the traditions of these bushmen’s daily lives.
OPTIONAL: In the afternoon, visit the Datooga people, a semi-nomadic pastoralist tribe who migrated into the area seeking rich grazing land many decades ago. To date, the Datooga have resisted the cultural influence of neighboring tribes – their women still wear local fat-treated goatskin gowns & beautify their face & body through scarification. Learning about their customs is truly fascinating.
